Ontario Edulog Users (OEU) is a user group that was formed to assist Transportation
Departments at School
Boards
in the Province of Ontario to share resources as they are related to our common
software called Edulog. Edulog is a GIS based transportation and planning software
application that assists Transportation Departments to not only manage our
transportation
systems
but to provide a means to identify school bus efficiencies and optimize savings.
Education Logistics which produces the Edulog software is located in Missoula
Montanna where staff develop software and support Edulog in over 1000 School
Districts throughout
North America.
Within the Province of Ontario there are 22 School Districts that currently
use Edulog as their main Transportation planning system. As a group we share
over 2300 schools with a population of over 1 million students. We
use
close
to
10,000
vehicles
to
cover
an area
over
60,000
square
kilometers and we have a combined transportation budget in excess of a quarter
of a billion
dollars.
The intent of this group is to share Edulog and operational best practices,
forward suggestions and problems to Edulog as a group to minimize duplication
and ensure problem resolution, and to meet bi-annually in order to keep current
with Edulog news from other Boards and the company itself. This site shares two
purposes. One, to provide School Districts interested in purchasing Edulog
some feedback on the product and providing contacts that would assist them
in making this decision. Second, a closed forum for Ontario Edulog Users to
discuss issues and share best practices as they relate to the Edulog software.
Our group would enjoy hearing comments from other Edulog sites and invite any
School District running Edulog to join us at our user group meetings.
